| Os pinos de coloracáo escura, por nao possuírem translucidez, foram sugeridos como
materiais que podem afetar adversamente a estética das coroas ceramo-cerámicas. O objetivo deste trabalho
foi avaliar clinicamente se a translucidez das coroas ceramo-cerámicas é influenciada pela opacidade e coloracáo
do pino usado para a confeccáo da reconstrucáo coronaria. O resultado estético do presente caso clínico mostrou-se
independente das propriedades ópticas do pino intra-radicular usado. Contudo, outros fatores, como o tamanho e
quantidade dos cristais, índice de refracáo e espessura da infra-estrutura cerámica podem também influenciar a
estética final das coroas ceramo-cerámicas.

| Because dark-colored posts do not present translucency, they have been suggested as
materials that may affect the esthetic outcome of all-ceramic crowns. The purpose of this work was to clinically
evaluate if the translucency of all-ceramic crowns may be disturbed by the opacity and color of the post used
for abutment tooth. The satisfactory esthetic outcome of the all-ceramic crowns has shown to be irrespective of
the optical properties of the post at this case report. However, other factors, as the size and the quantity of
crystals refraction index and ceramic thickness may also influence the final esthetics of all-ceramic crowns.
