RESUMO

O presente trabalho visa mostrar uma técnica de alteração do sistema retentivo de uma overdenture, em razão do espaço maxilomandibular diminuído, que não permite a colocação de um sistema original pelo fato de seu tamanho comprometer a estética e interferir na relação interdental. ABSTRACT

The American Heart Association (AHA) published, in 2007, new guidelines for prevention en infective endocarditis, restricting the indications to a small group of cardiac pathologic conditions, in patients submitted to invasive dental procedures. The aim of this article is to divulge theses guidelines to the dentists. DESCRIPTORS: Antibiotic prophylaxis, Bacteremia, Cardiovascular diseases, Endocarditis.
