RESUMO

Este estudo apresenta uma análise da distribuição das tensões em um incisivo central superior, tratado endodonticamente e restaurado com um núcleo metálico de liga prata-paládio com uma coroa metalo-cerâmica. Foram confeccionados modelos matemáticos bidimensionais. Em um dos modelos, foi colocada uma cinta metálica abraçando a dentina radicular, simulando o efeito de férula. Foi utilizado o software ANSYS 9.0, modelos foram carregados com uma força estática de 100 N, 45º, com relação ao longo eixo do dente. Concluiu-se que a presença de um anel circundando a dentina radicular não influenciou o padrão de distribuição das tensões. ABSTRACT

This study presents an analysis of stress distribution in an endodontic treated maxillary central incisor, restored with a silver-palladium metal alloy core with a metal-ceramic crown. Two-dimensional mathematical models were confected. In one of the models, a metal band embracing the root dentin was placed to simulate the ferrule effect. ANSYS 9.0 software was used, and the models were loaded with a static force of 100 N, at 450 in relation to the long axis of the tooth. It was concluded that the presence of a ring surrounding the root dentin did not influence the stress distribution pattern.
