RESUMO

Este artigo mostra o tratamento dado a um paciente com odontoma complexo erupcionado em região de terceiro molar inferior. O odontoma complexo é um tumor benigno, formado por estruturas dentais, porém, com distribuição desorganizada. Seu aspecto radiográfico é de uma massa compacta única e irregular. O odontoma está, na grande maioria das vezes, intra-ósseo, mas, em alguns casos, pode aparecer erupcionado, como no caso deste paciente. Vinte e seis anos de idade, leucoderma, sexo masculino, apresentou queixas em região inferior posterior esquerda, onde foi visualizada uma massa disforme junto ao terceiro molar. As imagens radiográficas eram sugestivas de um odontoma complexo e foi indicada a remoção cirúrgica. A confirmação da lesão ocorreu por exame histopatológico. O paciente evoluiu sem qualquer alteração local, com uma rápida cicatrização óssea da regido afetada. DESCRITORES: Odontoma; Tumores odontogénicos.

ABSTRACT

This paper reports the treatment given to patient with complex odontoma erupted in the region of the third under molar. The odontoma complex is a benign tumor, formed by dental structures, but with distribution unsystematic. The radiographic appearance is a single compact mass and irregular. The odontoma is, in the vast majority of cases, intraosseous, but in some cases may appear erupted, as in the case of this patient. Twenty-six years old, white, male, showed complaints in the lower left back, where viewed a mass deformed along with the third molar. The radiographic images were suggestive of a complex odontoma and surgical removal was recommended. The confirmation of the injury occurred by histopathologic examination. The patient developed without any local changes, with a quick healing bone of the region affected. DESCRIPTORS: Odontoma; Odontogenic tumor.
