| Se describe el tratamiento del niño fisurado, el cual comienza a partir de la primera semana de vida y continúa
hasta completada la dentición permanente, enfocado desde el punto de vista odontopediátrico-ortopediátrico. El tratamiento precoz se inicia
con una prótesis ortopédica de acrílico que permite la alimentación, estimulando el acercamiento de los bordes de la fisura, con lo que se
favorece la tarea del cirujano plástico. El odontopediatra cumple también la tarea del mantenimiento de ambas denticiones: temporaria,
mixta y permanente en estado de equilibrio o "salud", mediante aplicación de medidas preventivas y terapéuticas. Las estructuras bucofaciales
adecuadamente tratadas y estimuladas permiten cirugías reparadoras o estéticas más exitosas. El tratamiento del psicólogo/a a la familia
del niño, y posteriormente en forma simultánea el fonoaudiólogo/a y el ortodoncista completan el "Equipo Interdisciplinario" de trabajo, que
se considera el ideal para el enfoque terapéutico integral de este tipo de malformaciones maxilofaciales. Palabras claves: tratamiento interdisciplinario, terapéutica precoz, prótesis obturadora-ortopédica. |

| In this abstract, it is described the fissured child's treatment which starts during the first week of life and
it continues until the completion of the teething period. This is analyzed from the odontopediatrics and orthopediatrics point of view.
The precocious treatment is iniciated with an acrylic orthopedic prosthesis that makes the feeding possible. This stimulates to bring the
edges of the fissure closer together. This is also favoured by the dental surgeon's work. The odontopediatrician also performs the task of
the manteinance of both teething periods: temporary, mixed and permanent in conditions of "health" through the application of therapeutic
and preventive measures. Properly treated and stimulated the orofacial structures make possible successful surgeries. Then, with the psychologist
and the fonoaudiologist's help, the orthodontist finishes the work of an "interdisciplinary team". We consider that this work team is
ideal for the whole therapeutic approach of these types of maxillofacial malformations. Key Words: interdiciplinary treatment, precocious theraphy, obturation-orthopedic prosthesis. |
