| Las alteraciones del espacio biológico no resueltas previamente a la confección de restauraciones
son una de las causas más frecuente del fracaso de las mismas. Se realiza un breve análisis de los fundamentos
biológicos, quirúrgicos y protéticos que son importantes al momento de tratar este tipo de lesiones. Se ilustra,
con un caso clínico, la técnica de alargamiento quirúrgico de corona clínica; una de las formas de tratamiento
de las alteraciones del espacio biológico. Los resultados de esta técnica han sido ampliamente demostrados en la
literatura especializada.

| Abstract | |
| The alterations of the biological space not resolved previously to the making of restorations,
they are one of the most frequent causes in the failure of the same ones. It is carried out a brief analysis
of the biological, surgical and prosthetic requisites that are important to the moment to treat this type of
lesions. It is illustrated, with a clinical case, the technique of surgical crown lengthening; one option in
the treatment of the alterations of the biological space. The results of this technique have been broadly demonstrated
in the specialized literature.
