SUMMARY | |
Autoimmune diseases reveal complex and multigenic phenotypes affected by a variety of genetic and environmental or stochastic factors. A lot
of models for autoimmune diseases including Sjögren's syndrome (SS) have been demonstrated using gene-manipulated or other animals. Previous findings obtained with
both animal models and patients with SS indicate involvement of a T cell with a T helper type 1 (TH1) phenotype. This review focuses on the T cell dependent autoimmune
disease such as SS to understand the molecular mechanism of regulation of T cell activation in autoimmunity, and highlights the pathogenesis of autoimmune disease.
