RESUMEN

Uno de los grandes enigmas de la endodoncia moderna es el manejo de los conductos curvos y estrechos, los cuales por el grado de dificultad que presentan pueden llevar al clinico a cometer errores operatorios como escalones, transportaciones del foramen, perforaciones en el ápice radicular y en banda en el cuerpo radicular y fracturas de los instrumentos. Con la aparición de los instrumentos rotatorios hechos a base de aleaciones de níquel titanio, se pretende minimizar este tipo de errores volviendo la terapia endodontica convencional más segura y eficiente, este artículo analiza las características físicas y de cinemática del instrumento Mtwo y su aplicabilidad en el manejo de los conductos curvos y estrechos, teniendo en cuenta los principios básicos de la endodoncia para el manejo de estos conductos. ABSTRACT

One of the greatest enigmas in contemporary endodontics is the management of narrow and curved canals, which due to their complexity degree could force the clinician to perform procedural errors, such asfractured instruments, canal transportation, and apical or strip perforations. With the development of nickeltitanium rotary instruments, conventional endodontic therapy has become safer and efficient minimizing these types of accidents. The purpose of this article is to analyze physical and cinematic characteristics of the Mimo rotary instruments, and their feasibility in the management of narrow and curved canals, respecting the basic endodontic principles for their successful treatment.
