Resumen

La importancia de la detección precoz de las maloclusiones dento - maxilares y funcionales ya fue mas de una vez revisada en la bibliografía mundial. Esta información se planteó la necesidad de sistematizar y simplificar el diagnóstico preventivo y la orientación hacia las diversas terapéuticas que debe seguir ya no solo el especialista en Ortodoncia sino el Odontólogo generalista y el Odontopediatra. Se confeccionó una Tabla y se aplicó a 2 poblaciones escolares de la Argentina, una en la Provincia de Buenos Aires y otra en la Provincia de Tierra del Fuego. Las observaciones fueron realizadas por 2 Odontólogas-Ortodoncistas entrenadas y calibradas previamente en la Asociación Civil CEVI.

Summary

The importance of early detection of dentomaxilary malocclusions and functional malocclusions, has been described widely in the literature around the World. Using all this information, we considered the need to systematize and simplify the preventive diagnosis and theorientation towards the different therapeutics approaches that must be followed not only by the orthodontists but also by the dentists for children and the general practitioners. An experimental table was confectioned and was applied in two school populations of Argentina: one in Buenos Aires province and the other one in Tierra del Fuego. This study was carried on by two orthodontists with previous training and calibration at the CEVI Association.
