| Apresenta-se um caso de avulsao traumatica e reimplante dentario tardio, após cinco dias de permanéncia do dente fora da boca. Apesar do
prognóstico reservado para a sobrevivéncia do dente reimplantado nestas condiçóes, no presente caso o dente permanece clinicamente estavel in situ após um ano de
proservaçao, apresentando discretos sinais de reabsorçao radicular externa. Descreve-se a técnica endodóntica utilizada e discutem-se os fundamentos que justificam
a reimplantaçao tardia, mesmo em casos de longa permanéncia extrabucal.

| A case of dental traumatic avulsion and delayed replantation after five days is presented. In spite of the ban prognosis for tooth surviving
in this conditions, in the present case the tooth still is in the mouth after a 1-year follow up. Discrete apical root resorption can be observed. The endodontic
technique is described and the principles that justify the delayed replantation are discussed.
